The Central Newcastle High School, one of the Regions Premier Private Girls’ Schools underwent a £1.8m refurbishment to modernise, improve and extend the existing facilities.
A.E. Robb’s role in this was to design and oversee the mechanical and electrical services installations which, with the school fully occupied throughout, had to be carried out with minimum disruption.
The upgraded facilities include a new multi-purpose Assembly/Dining Hall incorporating a servery and audience seating, a state-of-the-art IT Teaching and Library facility, a remodelled Main Entrance and Reception Area and new Science Labs.
In addition, A.E. Robb was also instrumental in the design of further improvements, alterations and extensions throughout the school buildings, including a new electrical sub-station, designed to cater for the increased electrical demand.
