A.E. Robb & Associates is a Building Services Consultancy that excels in providing the best possible service to Clients, building long term relationships.

The Design Team at the company is made up by many long service staff, all working together to develop a forward thinking business.

The Directors are experts in their own fields and every Client works with a dedicated Director, ensuring a bespoke service within budget is delivered. Each project is monitored personally by the sector expert, guaranteeing experience and quality. The company holds a Quality Assurance Certificate to ISO 9001:2015.

As well as keeping up with the most up to date legislation, A.E. Robb is committed to investing in the team, with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training and consistently updates programmes to assist them in achieving the most up to date techniques possible.

This investment illustrates the ethos at the heart of the company. Quite simply A.E. Robb values people, the company has a traditional approach to employment, and believes that respect to both Team Members and to Clients, is vital in today’s market.

Our History

A.E. Robb was founded in 1956. Born from an idea by Alexander Edwin Robb (Eddie), the company was formed as an Engineering Consultancy.

As the work flooded in A.E. Robb grew in staff numbers too and Eddie was soon joined by business partner Bill Carr, a Building Services Contractor. Jim Stephenson joined in 1961 and later became Managing Director and the company continued to expand rapidly focusing on employing and training apprentices, many of whom stayed with the company today to Director level.  In January 2010 Garry Liddle, who joined the company in 1971, became Managing Director after Jim Stephenson’s retirement.

As the original founders retired over the years, today’s executive board emerged. Current Director Craig Powell joined the business in 2001, accepting the first Graduate Engineer position offered by the company. Taking over from Garry Liddle in 2016, he is focusing on taking the company from strength to strength, committing to both inward investment and an unfailing service to Clients.

In May 2019 David Leeson and Angus Glenwright were appointed Director’s to work alongside Craig.

A.E. Robb work on projects the length and breadth of the country with Clients currently based in the North East, Scotland, Somerset, Hertfordshire, Sussex, North Lincolnshire, Hull and South Yorkshire.

In 2016 A.E. Robb celebrated an incredible 60 years in business.

The company has come a long way over the six decades and the current Directors are focusing on developing the company so it performs for at least the next 60 years!
